We only have a
few vegetarian appetizers and may I say that some have
cheese, which
may not always be strictly vegetarian. I will note in the recipes, which
things may
need some substitutions for strict vegetarians. I found out through my
readers that
Lee and Perrins has anchovies in it, I had no idea.
Black Bean Spirals Decorative and
delicious. These spirals will fill up any
hungry crowd.
Chex Party Mix This is the original
recipe. Always use Lea & Perrins Worcestershire
sauce, the others are not worth the savings, they are weak and salty tasting.
Cranberry Brie Puffs These are not
just for holidays but are perfect for a holiday
buffet at a cocktail party.
Jalapeno Deviled Eggs Nice and
spicy eggs pair up well with a frothy beer
and a football game.
Jezebel Sauce with Cream Cheese
Some cream cheeses have gelatin and the pectin
may not be for every vegetarian. This is an unusual sauce that you will
make over
and over. It's good to use with many dishes.
Orange Spiced Walnuts
This is a great snack for both kids and
adults. It's
unusual and made with gelatin. Good for parties.
Ritz
Bitz Snack This isn't
exactly an appetizer, but our friend Don
brings this to our Easter Egg Hunt each year and he e-mailed the
recipe to share. A big favorite with the kids.
Teddy Bear Snack Mix A healthy mix
of Honey Nut Cheerios, nuts, raisins and
teddy bear snacks. Kids love to make this mix and a bowl left around the
house
makes a quick snack that is good for them. My kids rave over this.
Vegetable Pate This red, white and green
terrine looks like you slaved away
for hours. With a food processor it is really simple plus its healthy.
Must be made a day ahead.
