HEAVENLY SOUR CREAM-STRAWBERRY
This is a scrumptious strawberry dessert that you can prepare in the middle of
winter when you have a yen for strawberries and they are out of season.
2 pkgs. 3-oz. strawberry gelatin
2 cups hot water
1 can 8-oz. crushed pineapple, drained and retained
1 pkg. 10-oz. frozen sliced strawberries
1 cup sour cream
1 pkg. 10-oz. frozen whole strawberries
Dissolve 1 package strawberry gelatin in 1 cup hot water; add 1/2 cup pineapple
syrup. Cool. Add
pineapple and partially thawed, sliced strawberries. Pour into an 8-inch square
pan; chill until very firm.
Frost with sour cream and chill. Dissolve remaining gelatin in 11 cup hot water.
Add remaining pineapple juice, adding water if necessary to make 1/2 cup. Cool.
Pour gently over sour cream. Arrange thawed whole strawberries in top layer of
gelatin; chill thoroughly. Cut into squares to serve. Serves 6.
