Cornbread

Cornbread goes well with all the menu items on the buffet.  This is an old family
recipe from my husband's side of the family.  Marie Callendar mixes also make
great cornbread and they are really easy.

1 cup cornmeal
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
3 Tsp. baking powder
1 Tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg

Combine all the dry ingredients.   Combine all wet ingredients and add all at once to the
dry ingredients.  Stir until smooth.  Pour into a greased 8" pan.   Bake 20 minutes at
425 degrees.
