Crock Pot White Chili

1 pound Great Northern beans, soaked
2 pounds boneless chicken breasts
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 (4-ounce) cans green chilies
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper, according to your tastes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can chicken broth
1 cup water

Put beans in medium pan and cover with water. Bring to boil;
reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Discard water. Skin chicken
breasts and cut into 1-inch pieces. Brown, if desired. Put beans,
chicken, onion, garlic, green chilies, cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper,
salt, broth and 1 cup water in slow cooker.
Stir to mix thoroughly. Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours
(5 to 6 hours on high).
