Pumpkin Upside Down Cake

1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 can (15 oz.) pumpkin
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Mix cake mix according to package directions and pour into greased
9 x 13 inch baking pan. Beat together the pumpkin, sugar, sweetened
condensed milk, eggs and spice. Pour evenly over cake batter.
Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes and invert
onto serving dish. Let cool thoroughly. Cut into squares. Top with
whipped topping, if desired. Serves 12 to 16
