Family Style Pasta Cheese Bake

3 tbs.. olive oil
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground turkey or chicken
1 very large yellow onion (diced)
2 tbs.. tomato paste
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. dried crushed oregano

1 lb. spiral pasta (or your favorite)
1 c. ricotta cheese (any style)
1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 large eggs
3 tbs.. freshly chopped basil or
1 tbs.. dried basil
1/4 c. chicken broth
1/4 c. instant potato flakes (not buds)

1 9"x13" baking pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray

Preheat oven at 350F. (325F. glass pans)

Preparation: Boil pasta according to package directions less 2 min.,
drain and cool with ice water. Set aside.

While pasta is cooking brown ground meats in the olive oil along with
next 6 ingredients. Cook until onions are translucent. Pack down in the
bottom of the baking dish.

In a large bowl combine remaining ingredients except pasta. Beat with
beater for two minutes until the consistency of pudding. Add more broth
if needed. Combine mixture with cooled pasta. Spread on the top of the
meat mixture.

Bake 350F. (325F. glass pans) until brown and bubbly on top. Turn off
oven. Allow casserole to rest in oven for about 15 minutes. Remove from
oven let rest at room temp. another 15 min. before serving.

Serves six hearty eaters. I usually serve a nice green salad on the
