Turnip Galette

15 medium turnips, peeled and sliced thin

Preheat oven to 375.  Generously butter a 9 inch glass pie plate. 
Layer slices in the pie plate, overlapping as you go.  Season with
salt and pepper.  Weigh down the galette with another pie plate.
Bake until golden, 1-1 1/2 hours.  Uncover and invert onto a platter
to serve.
