Chocolate Pecan Oatmeal Cookies

1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp. sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups + 2 tbsp. all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2-1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
14 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350º F.
Lightly grease 2 large baking sheets.
Beat margarine and both sugars in large bowl until fluffy and well
blended. Beat in eggs 1 at a time, and add the vanilla.
Sift flour, baking soda, and salt over margarine mixture, and stir to
blend. Mix in oats, chocolate chips,
and pecans.
Working in batches, drop dough by rounded tbsp. onto prepared sheets.
Bake cookies until golden brown, about 14 minutes. Transfer cookies to
racks and cool completely.
Load up the cookie sheet again, and bake another dozen or so.
Makes 4 dozen
